Today, we are exposed to more environmental toxins and chemicals than ever before and overexposure may affect your wellbeing.
When you are at home, you shouldn’t have to be surrounded by any harmful burdens.
Unfortunately, home insulation and carpet can trap stale air and toxins in our homes.
You can’t avoid all of the toxins and chemicals around you, but you can reduce their impact. Let’s look at a few suggestions:
1) Use Natural cleaning products.
Opt for ‘green’, all natural products when cleaning your home. Sometimes harsh chemicals can be found in domestic cleaning products.
We know life gets busy, but as often as you can, vacuum and mop floors with natural floor cleaners.
2) Aim to use less plastic.
There have been several concerns about the impact of Bisphenol A (BPA) and Phthalates in plastic. While the effects of BPA are still being determined, BPA free products are becoming available on the market e.g. stainless steel water bottles.
Do your research and ensure the plastic items in your home are free of any chemicals that may be linked to health problems.
3) Replace your haircare, deodorants and other personal care items to more natural options.
In today’s market, our personal care items can often come with unnecessary chemicals. There are various all-natural and chemical free alternatives available.
If you are going to continue to use your current personal care products, ensure you only use them in moderation.
4) Install Water filters
Buying a water filter can help eliminate the chemicals contained in your tap water.
Alkalising filtration systems can help to filter our impurities such as bacteria, fluoride and heavy metals from drinking water.
5) Ventilate various areas of your home to avoid mould and mildew.
Ventilating your home is a simple, yet effective tip. This will help ensure that no moisture is able to build up and create mould or mildew. Indoor plants are also an idea for ensuring the air is circulating properly through your home.
In terms of purifying your body, having your own home infrared sauna is also a great way to help.
These are a few of our best tips and we would love to hear yours.
